واشنطن – أوضحت دراسة حديثة صدرت في الذكرى الرابعة لإنهيار مصرف «ليمان براذرز» أن الأزمة المالية التي عصفت بالإقتصاد العالمي عام 2008 كلفت الإقتصاد الأميركي 12,8 تريليون دولار على الأقل، وهو رقم «متحفظ جداً» طبقاً لمعديها.
وكانت مؤسسة «بتر ماركتس» غير الربحية قد أعدت الدراسة للوقوف على الخسارة الحقيقية المرتبطة بالأزمة، دون أن تشمل التكاليف الحكومية المتخذة لتجنب «كساد كبير» ثاني، فضلا عن تكاليف لا يمكن حسابها كمياً مثل المعاناة الإنسانية المرتبطة بالبطالة، التشرد، والأضرار ذات الصلة. كما لم تشمل الدراسة أيضا الأضرار التي لحقت بمعدل الإنتاجية جراء توسع وانتشار البطالة على المستوى طويل الأمد، والتي تقلص بدورها مداخيل العاملين، وتشكل خطراً على النمو الإقتصادي. وقد اعترف معدو الدراسة في «بتر ماركتس» بأن النمو الضعيف للإقتصاد يعنيمن بين أمور عديدة أخرى ابتكاراً أقل وتقدما تكنولوجياً أقل، وان تبعات ونتائج هذه الخسائر يتعذر تحديدها أيضاً.
ونوهت الدراسة إلى ان الجزء الأكبر من تقدير الخسارة البالغة 12,8 تريليون دولار كان من نصيب ثروات الأسر التي فقدت 11 تريليون دولار تبخرت مع الأزمة. وقد عانت البنوك أيضاً خلال تلك الأزمة حيث فقدت حوالي 500 مليار دولار من قيمتها السوقية.
