تروي – بدأت الاثنين الماضي ورشة إعادة إعمار وتوسيع طريق «٧٥» السريع بمقاطعة أوكلاند في مشروع من المتوقع أن ينجز العمل به في حلول العام ٢٠٣٠.
المرحلة الأولى من المشروع الذي تقدر كلفته الإجمالية بحوالي ١.٣ مليار دولار ستشمل ثلاثة أميال من الطريق السريع بين بلدة بلومفيلد ومدينة تروي، علماً بأن المشروع يهدف الى توسعة الطريق الذي شيّد بين العامين ١٩٥٧ و١٩٧٣، من ثلاثة مسارات الى أربعة في كل من الاتجاهين، وذلك على طول ١٨ ميلاً تمتد من حدود مدينة ديترويت جنوباً (الميل الثامن) الى مشارف بونتياك شمالاً (شارع ساوث بوليفارد)، على أن يقسم المشروع الى ثماني مراحل.
وقال الناطق باسم وزارة المواصلات في ميشيغن روب موروسي، إن المشروع الضخم سيوفر ملايين الدولارات التي تنفق سنوياً على صيانة الطريق «٧٥»، مؤكداً أنه من الآن فصاعداً لن تكون هناك أعمال ترقيع.
كما أشار موروسي الى أن المشروع جاء لإيجاد حلول لمشاكل المرور وحوادث التصادم على الطريق، إضافة الى الحد من الزيادة المضطردة في تكاليف الصيانة السنوية التي ارتفعت من 1.1 مليون دولار عام 2012 الى 1.9 مليوناً عام 2016.
ولفت موروسي الى أن دراسة تحليلية امتدت على خمس سنوات أظهرت أن الطريق شهد وقوع 5564 حادثاً منها 600 عند تقاطع شارع سكوير لايك وحده، مع تسجيل 1306 إصابات شخصية، وأن 63 بالمئة من تلك الحوادث وقعت في ظروف جوية حسنة و52 بالمئة منها كانت صدمات من الخلف، في إشارة الى أن سوء أوضاع الطريق كان السبب الرئيسي في تلك الحوادث.
من جانب آخر، نوه موروسي الى توقعات بزيادة الكثافة المرورية على هذا الشارع مستشهدا في ذلك بتقرير «مجلس الحكومات المحلية في جنوب شرقي ميشيغن» والذي جاء فيه أن الحركة المرورية على الطريق «75» بين الميل الثامن وطريق «أم 59» ستزداد بمقدار 10 بالمئة بحلول العام 2040.
ويشار الى أن المرحلة الأولى، التي تقدر كلفتها بحوالي ٩٠ مليون دولار (٨٠ بالمئة من التمويل الفدرالي)، سوف يستغرق إنجازها مدة سنتين، وتغطي ثلاثة أميال تمتد من ساوث بوليفارد الى كوليدج في تروي وتشمل تحديث تقاطع سكوير لايك واستبدال جسره. وأكد مورسي أن 90 بالمئة من موازنة المشروع الكلية ستخصص لإعادة بناء الطريق السريع والجسور العابرة (٤١ جسراً للسيارات وستة جسور المشاة) وليس لزيادة عدد المسارات.
