واشنطن – وأخيرا أوقعت السلطات الأميركية برجل يعتقد بأنه يقف وراء إرسال قرابة 500 رسالة تحوي (مسحوقا أبيض اللون)، على مدى ست سنوات، إلى عدد من الجهات الحكومية والمسؤولين، بينهم الرئيس، باراك أوباما.
واعتقل مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالية ووكالة (تفتيش البريد)، هونغ مين ترونغ، 66 عاما، على خلفية قضية فيدرالية أقيمت بشأن الرسائل المشبوهة التي ترسل من منطقة ما بشمال تكساس إلى مدن مختلفة بالولايات المتحدة وحتى السفارات الأميركية بالخارج منذ عام 2008. ورغم تأكيد وزارة العدل الأميركية خلو الرسائل من أي مواد سامة، لكنها دعت إلى تحرك عاجل لتحديد ما إذا كان للمسحوق أي تأثيرات ضارة، علما أن بعض الرسائل كانت خالية من ذلك المسحوق. وبعثت تلك الرسائل المشبوهة إلى جهات حكومية وشركات صناعة الطيران ومدارس وفنادق، في حين أكدت مصادر مطلعة لـ«سي أن أن» أن بعضها أرسل إلى الرئيس وأعضاء بالكونغرس.
