واشنطن – كشف تقرير أميركي الأسبوع الماضي أن حوالي ثلاثة أرباع الأطفال الذين وُلدوا لآباء من المهاجرين بطرق غير شرعية إلى الولايات المتحدة أصبحوا اليوم مواطنين يحملون الجنسية الأميركية. وقالت صحيفة “يو أس أي توداي” الأميركية الأربعاء الماضي إن ٤ ملايين طفل وُلدوا في الولايات المتحدة لآباء من المهاجرين غير الشرعيين أثاروا جدلا كبيرا حول التعامل الحكومي الأميركي مع سكان الولايات وخدماتهم العامة، وفقا لتقرير أعده مركز “بيو” لذوي الأصول الإسبانية.
وقال جيفري باسيل، خبير الديموغرافيا بمركز “بيو” لذوي الأصول اللاتينية في واشنطن، والمشارك في إعداد التقرير: “المهاجرون بدون وثائق يعيشون في الأحياء الأميركية ولديهم أطفال في المدارس… وهذا يعقد بشكل كبير من صعوبة مهمة إنشاء سياسات للتعامل مع هؤلاء السكان”.
وأشار تقرير مركز “بيو” إلى أن حوالي ثلث المهاجرين غير الشرعيين في الولايات المتحدة (٤ من ١٢ مليون تقريبا) من النساء، وأن ٧٣ بالمئة من أطفال المهاجرين غير الشرعيين (٤ من ٥,٥ مليون طفل تقريبا) ولدوا في الولايات المتحدة يحملون الجنسية الأميركية، بعد أن كانت نسبتهم ٦٣ بالمئة في ٢٠٠٣.
هذا ونقلت صحيفة “يو أس أي توداي” عن دوغلاس ماسي، أستاذ علم الاجتماع بجامعة برينستون الأميركية، قوله: “ليس لدينا بالفعل خيار إلا أن نكشف هؤلاء الناس بطريقة ما”. كما أفاد التقرير أن المهاجرين من أميركا اللاتينية (ناطقي الإسبانية) “مسؤولين عن نصف النمو السكاني في الولايات المتحدة منذ عام ٢٠٠٠”.
