بالتيمور - ألقى مكتب التحقيقات الفدرالي (أف بي آي) القبض على رجل عربي أميركي فـي ولاية ماريلاند، تسلّم مبلغاً قدره ٨٧٠٠ دولار من تنظيم «داعش» لتنفـيذ هجوم داخل الولايات المتحدة.
وقال المكتب إن الرجل، واسمه محمد الشناوي (30 عاماً) اعتقل بموجب عدد من التهم منها محاولة تزويد منظمة ارهابية خارجية بدعم مادي. ويقول المكتب إن الشناوي، وهو طبيب أميركي، بايع تنظيم «داعش» من خلال الانترنت فـي شباط (فبراير) الماضي. وقال الشناوي للمحققين إنه لم يكن ينوي تنفـيذ أي هجوم فعلي، وانه فقط كان يريد من عملاء التنظيم أن يرسلوا له الأموال.
وقال مكتب التحقيقات من جانبه إن الشناوي استخدم هواتف محمولة يمكن التخلص منها وعدة حسابات للبريد الالكتروني ومواقع التواصل الاجتماعي للتواصل مع عناصر من التنظيم مضيفا أنه تسلم الاموال عن طريق خدمة «وسترن يونيون» و«باي بال».
وكانت هذه التحويلات المالية القادمة من مصر وسوريا قد استرعت انتباه السلطات الأميركية فـي حزيران (يونيو) الماضي.
وجاء فـي لائحة الاتهام الفدرالية، «قال الشناوي إنه أمر باستخدام الاموال التي تسلمها من أحد عناصر التنظيم لاغراض عملياتية، الأمر الذي فهمه الشناوي بأنه يعني إنزال دمار أو تنفـيذ هجوم إرهابي فـي الولايات المتحدة».
يذكر أن أكثر من 70 شخص فـي الولايات المتحدة اتهموا بالعمل مع التنظيم فـي العام الماضي.
ورفعت درجة التأهب فـي صفوف قوات الأمن الأميركية هذا الشهر عقب الهجوم الذي نفذه زوجان -كانا قد أعلنا بيعتهما للتنظيم- فـي ولاية كاليفورنيا وهو أكثر الهجمات المصنفة «ارهابية» دمويةً فـي الولايات المتحدة منذ هجمات أيلول (سبتمبر) 2001.
