واشنطن - حذرت وزارة الخارجية الأميركية المواطنين من «مخاطر محتملة فـي السفر إلى أوروبا أو عبرها» بعد وقوع سلسلة من الهجمات آخرها فـي بروكسل التي خلفت 34 قتيلاً وأكثر من مئتي جريح.
وقالت فـي بيان إن هناك مجموعات إرهابية تخطط لشن هجمات فـي أوروبا ضد «أحداث رياضية ومواقع سياحية ومطاعم ووسائل النقل».
ودعت الأميركيين إلى اليقظة فـي الأماكن العامة، واتخاذ أعلى درجات الحذر عند حضور أعياد دينية أو احتفالات وأحداث ضخمة.
وأشار البيان إلى أن هذا التحذير سيبقى سارياً حتى 20 حزيران (يونيو) المقبل، أي بعد عشرة أيام من افتتاح كأس الأمم الأوروبية لكرة القدم المقررة فـي فرنسا بين العاشر من حزيران والعاشر من تموز (يوليو) المقبل.
فـي غضون ذلك، أوردت وسائل إعلام أميركية أن الشرطة أخلت جزءاً من المحطة الرئيسية لمطار دنفر الدولي بولاية كولورادو بسبب مخاوف أمنية. وأعلنت سلطات المطار أن الإخلاء شمل 10 بوابات، إضافة إلى تعطيل حركة السيارات عند الجناح الغربي.
ونفى وزير الأمن الداخلي الأميركي جه جونسون توافر أية معلومات تشير إلى وجود مخطط لشن هجمات داخل الولايات المتحدة كتلك التي وقعت فـي بروكسل. وأضاف أن إدارة أمن المواصلات (تي أس أي) تعكف على تشديد الأمن فـي مطارات المدن الكبرى والقطارات وغيرها من مواقع السفر المكتظة.
وقد أعلنت الخارجية الأميركية، الأربعاء الماضي، أن عشرة أميركيين أصيبوا فـي اعتداءات بروكسل من دون تسجيل أي وفاة حتى الآن، لكن واشنطن لا تملك معلومات عن بعض مواطنيها وبينهم أشخاص يعملون فـي البعثات الدبلوماسية الأميركية.
وقال المتحدث باسم الخارجية مارك تونر إن الحكومة الأميركية تقوم بإحصاء ذاتي، وقال: «نجهد لإحصاء من هو بخير، سواء بين طاقم السفارة أو المجموعة الأميركية» التي تقيم فـي بروكسل.
وللولايات المتحدة ثلاث ممثليات دبلوماسية فـي بروكسل، الأولى لبلجيكا والثانية للاتحاد الأوروبي والثالثة لحلف شمال الأطلسي.
