ديربورن – ترتفع قيمة فواتير المياه في ديربورن لأول مرة منذ خمس سنوات، ومن المقرر أن يصوت مجلس ديربورن البلدي على القرار النهائي لرفع الأسعار في اجتماعه الثلاثاء المقبل، والسبب في ذلك هو إرتفاع تكاليف منظومات وآليات نظام المياه والصرف الصحي في المدينة.
وستفرض زيادة بنسبة 6 بالمئة من قيمة فواتير المياه الحالية و5،8 بالمئة من قيمة فواتير الصرف الصحي، فيما رفعت ديترويت النسبة بقيمة 4.31 بالمئة على المياه و 3،68 على الصرف الصحي. وقال مدير دائرة الأشغال العامة في بلدية ديربورن جيم موراي إن معدل كمية الإستهلاك من المياه في المنازل يصل الى 25 وحدة (20 الف غالون) كل ثلاثة أشهر وهي مدة الدورة التي تتضمنها فاتورة المياه، وتبلغ قيمتها 185،77 دولار، ومع إرتفاع الكلفة سوف تصل الى 196،99 دولار، في مقابل 400 وحدة في المحال التجارية تبلغ قيمة فاتورتها 2344 دولار، سوف ترتفع لتصبح 2485 دولار، وتصل تكاليف وعوائد المياه في ديربورن للعام المالي الى 18،6 مليون دولار, في مقابل 30،6 مليوناً للصرف الصحي.
على صعيد آخر قال موراي ان البلدية تلقت 3 عروض من الشركات لتنظيف شوارع المدينة ضمن عقود لمدة سنتين، وطالب عضو المجلس البلدي ديفيد بزي هذه الشركات بتقديم عروض لعقود مدتها 5 سنوات، لكن موراي أوضح إن الشركات ترفض هذا الطلب خشية تغير أسعار المواد خاصة الوقود، وطالب موراي المجلس بضرورة النظر في إمكانية إعادة مسؤولية تنظيف الشوارع لتتولاها البلدية مباشرة، مؤكداً «أنه في هذه الحالة سنضطر الى توظيف شخصين إضافيين بدوام كامل براتب 80 الف دولار سنويا لكل منهما إضافة الى ثلاثة حاليين، ويجب إستبدال ماكنتين متقادمتين بأخرتين جديدتين، سعر الواحدة منها يتراوح بين 200 – 250 ألف دولار والتي يمكن أن تخدم من 8 إلى10 سنوات.
