جنيف – نبهت المفوضية العليا للاجئين التابعة للأمم المتحدة، الاثنين الماضي، إلى أن عدد النازحين واللاجئين الذين فروا من النزاعات وحملات الاضطهاد في العالم بلغ مستوى قياسياً، بعد تسجيل 65.3 مليون شخص في 2015.
وذكر تقرير الإحصاء السنوي للمفوضية، أنها المرة الأولى التي يتجاوز فيها عدد اللاجئين والنازحين حول العالم 60 مليون شخص، أي ما يناهز عدد سكان بريطانيا، وفق ما ذكرت وكالة «فرانس برس». وتوضح الأرقام أن فرداً من أصل كل 113 شخصا في العالم بات، اليوم، في حالة طلب لجوء، أو لجوء، أو نزوح داخلي. كما تظهر البيانات أن ستة أشخاص ينزحون عن ديارهم في العالم، كل دقيقة.
ويعود الارتفاع المهول في أعداد اللاجئين والنازحين، إلى الحروب والأزمات المستعرة منذ سنوات في مناطق متفرقة حول العالم أبرزها العراق وسوريا واليمن والصومال وأفغانستان وأوكرانيا وجمهورية إفريقيا الوسطى.
